Where is a good place to set the BloomSky up at to allow for the most accurate temperature while also still getting a good sky view. I just set mine up 2 days ago but notice the temps is always 3-4 degrees warmer than the actual and sometimes as high as 6 degrees off. I figure it will be way off once we get into late Spring to early Fall. The nighttime temps are accurate once the device can catch up. Currently I have the unit about a foot and half above ground level using the ground stake for a temporary location. I know the product claims you can mount to the side of house at roof level but I figure that would run even warmer due to heat radiating off the shingles.
Thanks for reaching out. The very best position for the device is about 10 feet off the ground and in (at the least) a partially shaded area. Like you have surmised, it is best if the device is away from materials that could give off heat. We have found that the ground does give off heat and can skew the temperature. It is great that you are utilizing the ground stake as it allows air flow and keeps the passive cooling system moving, but partnered with our u mount and a tripod would yield better results.
If you are satisfied with your placement of the device, go ahead and power cycle the device. This will reset the sensors.
