Rain Detection

Francesco Caltieri Jul 10, 2018 06:58PM PDT

What exactly do you mean rain detection. Nothing on my iPhone app indicated that it is raining. Where am I supposed to see this indication. Is some kind of symbol or color change supposed to appear? I’m not talking about the quantity of rain that comes from Storm. I want to know where Sky2 indicates that it is currently raining.

Hello Francesco,

Rain notification with the SKYs have been disabled until further notice. Our engineers are currently working on trying to fix the false positives the device would get from morning dew or sprinklers. If you have a STORM in conjunction with your SKY you will get the rain notification for the STORM instead. Usually the notification comes as a pop-up. Verify that your phone is allowing notifications from our application. If it is please reply back with what kind of phone you are using and what version of the app you have.

Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused, please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.

Cheers,
Mike

Sky2 + Storm and no rain notification. We had a storm yesterday.
But the rain notification was working a few months ago. No change on the phone at all since then.

All notifications from BloomSky app allowed.

BloomSky app ver.: 3.1.8 (Build 533)

Phone model: Lenovo
Android version: 7.0
Android security patch level: 1 November 2017
Kernel version: 3.18.31-perf-g247719e Tue Nov 7 2017

Hello Michael,

Thanks.

We had two big showers about 20 minutes apart today. With sun shining in between them and 28 °C / 82 °F most of the day. So the weather station had certainly time to dry up after the first shower.

There was a rain notification for the first shower. But there was no notification for the second shower.

I didn’t get notifications for showers in the previous weeks.
