Storm not recording rainfall

Dave Stubbs Mar 09, 2018 07:28AM PST

Sky 'Botley Weather' set-up since December. Storm set-up yesterday (8th March).
Appears to be registering wind speed, gusts and UV but not rainfall - day 0.0 and rate 0.0/in/hr despite steady rainfall for past 2 hours.
No Storm data showing on BloomSky portal since 5a.m. Sky data up-to-date.

I thought this could be a problem with my set-up but exploring worldwide I cannot find anywhere recording any rainfall! Is there a general problem?

Dear Dave,

Thank you for contacting BloomSky. I’m sorry to hear about your issue. I took a look at your device and it seems it wasn’t reporting well that day, but I see that it has reported since then. If you can please confirm if you’re still having issues.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to reply back to this email, or look for updates on our facebook page.

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your reply. My Storm does now seem to be recording wind rainfall and UV but I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the readings. I have also now managed to get it to charge the battery from the solar panel which is good news!

My problem now is that what I am seeing in the data view of the Bloomsky portal does not appear to agree with what I see on the app.

For example yesterday (22/3) I noted the following readings on the app:
1:51pm Wind 6.4mph
1:56pm Wind 6.2mph
3:12pm Wind 2.5mph

All these times also showed a gust of 6.4mph.

The data view shows the maximum wind for 22/3 as 2.6mph between 4pm and 5pm. The wind shown for around 2pm is less than 2mph.

I cannot tell how accurate the rainfall data is at the moment because the only precipitation we have had has been in the form of snow.

My Storm is not reporting rainfall either. Wind and UV works.

Hi Dave,

We’re currently working on the graphs to have tighter wind readings. I would suggest to check the table to get more accurate readings in the meantime. If you have any further questions please let us know.

Many Thanks,
