Direct access to my Sky + storm API

Fraggboy Sep 30, 2017 01:09PM PDT

Hello guys. I know this has been brought up a while ago, which was forwarded to the engineers.

Will there be a time that we can access the API data directly from the Sky + Storm ourselves? The driving factor is that. . . your servers haven't been reliable at times. If I'm in control of that interface, I can create a watchdog and have it automatically restart if the communication is broken.

I know I can retrieve the API data from your servers. I'm (And others) are wanting a direct interface.

Hello Christopher,

Thanks so much for the post. You know, I have not heard about this for quite some time, and it is great that you bring it up. I will bring this up once ore with the engineers to see if this is viable.

Thanks again,

I am also interested in being able to access the camera directly. I mean if you guys won the lottery and moved away, then these cameras would be useless.

Not to pressure you on this, but every post that has been replied that it would be brought up to the engineers have gone unanswered.

Could we receive an answer to this from the engineers please?

No, no problem at all, that is what I am here for. Normally, when I bring up these subjects to the guys I will tag this case and they will respond to it if anything can be done. This one in particular has not been answered, yet. I do not know if this is something feasible to do in the next month or two at least. Their project load is a little heavy. Thanks for the follow up.

Dear Gents,

If I could ++++ this request then I would!

Joseph, I agree with your point. After the initial purchase we have no leverage with Bloomsky, and I do not necessarily see anything that gives me confidence that the Bloomsky team will support fast, accurate access to the data from the devices I own for the life of the product.

Nick's responses are great, but as Fraggboy points out, the actual actions from 'the engineers' are slow and unclear.

It was requested before that some form of list be created to show the items that 'the engineers' are actually working on (bugs and features). This would REALLY help to build confidence.

As I have said many times, the device and system concept is FANTASTIC, and the potential is excellent. But the poor communication in shipping/delivery, and poor engineering resolution to issues, make it really difficult to recommend the product.
