Storm Dongle Flashing Green

Hi there,

This morning I noticed the Storm dongle is flashing green rather than breathing green. I power cycled it and it went right back to flashing. Is this normal?

My dongle is flashing also. My storm is uploading data just fine.

Weird - my data hasn't uploaded since 5:24am this morning. We got a bunch of rain today and so that wasn't measured :(

Chad,

I know in the iOS app, the rain measurement is not being reported correctly (Already created a post). Are you referring to the Bloomsky Portal? For me, that is accurate.

Yeah - In the dashboard I don't have data after 5:24am, and WU hasn't shown Storm metrics since then either.

Alright - got it fixed I think. Had to unplug the dongle, delete the storm from the app, press the reset button and hold it as I plugged it back in. Went to green, then breathing red, then breathing green.

I know this may soun a little dense, but I'm just wanting to check/clarify...breathing green is a very slow flash, different than static green, and flashing green is faster? Is the slow flash, breathing, what it is supposed to be, rather than solid? (Mine is doing the slow flash and I thought something may be wrong, but sounds like that's what it's supposed be doing, so all is a-ok?)

I've the problem. The dongle is flashing green very fast (7-8 flashes for 1 second). And I can't pair the storm.
The connection with the router seem to be ok (i can see the dongle with my router). When I ping it, it's ok.
But the pairing is impossible.
Could someone help me please?

If it is rapidly blinking, I recommend unplugging the dongle for a few minutes and then plugging it back in to retry setup.

After installation, Storm worked for a few days flawlessly. Couple days ago, the dongle started to blink rapidly and no more data was received (i.e. same wind speed and same wind direction was displayed in app continuously). Just now, I took the Storm in, removed it from the app, resetted the dongle and took it offline. Then I added the dongle/Storm again through the whole setup process. Now it works and reports again. Will continue to observe.

I've had the same issue. My Sky2 dongle rapidly flashes green. Seems the only solution is to remove my Sky from the app, take it down off of my 16' mount, bring it inside, and completely go through the set up process. It works for a few weeks and then does it again. Removing it and remounting it after going through the set up process isn't what I call "fun."

@Jason, sorry for the question, but are you referring to the SKY2 or Storm? The SKY2 does not have a dongle, the Storm does. If you are having an issue with the Storm and the dongle is rapidly flashing green, I would unplug the dongle and let it rest for a few minutes then plug it back in.

Follow-up to my post from FEB 05, 2018:
After my Storm has worked for three weeks fairly nicely, it seems to be stuck again since today... the app displays the same wind speed and direction with no more gust data (--). The dongle is rapidly flashing green again. Unplugging the dongle (both power and ethernet cable) and letting it rest for a few minutes doesn't help (tried several times). I guess I need to take the Storm in and go through the whole setup process again.
If you have any additional advise, that would be much appreciated.

Lars I would also try resetting the dongle with thebutton in the back and if that doesn't work we may need to send you another dongle. I would send an email with your order info to supportbloomsky.com to get you a new one if that doesn’t work.

I also have the same problem - during some heavy rain my Storm went offline, with fast-blinking green dongle. Any resolution on this? Unplugging / dongle backs in results in same blinking, even after reset button pushed.

Kasper I recommend unplugging it, let it rest, then plug it back in. If that does not resolve it we may need to send a replacement dongle. Please send us an email at supportbloomsky.com

@chad what script did you share? I'm also having some issues with my Storm. I re-paired it and am leaving it plugged in overnight in case there are any firmware updates pending.
